SPURS EYE CALUM WILSON

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a transfer for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson. According to The Mirror Spurs are willing to make a move for the striker. Bournemouth were relegated on the final day of the EPL after their heroic performance at Goodison Park.

Eddie Howe’s side put out a fine performance, but it was a little too late as Aston Villa held their own to hold out to 1-1 draw away at West Ham to condemn the Cherries to relegation after five years in the topflight. Bournemouth were promoted to the EPL after winning the Championship in the 2014-2015 season. They will have to return and navigate another Championship season. But one man that will not go down with the Cherries is Wilson.

The England international is one of the highest-paid players at the club and they will be looking to get him off the books. Bournemouth will also be looking at getting a decent price for him as they look to rebuild the squad to fit their next challenge.

Wilson is also thought to be keen on staying in the EPL and the prospect of playing for a top team in the division excites the player.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has been vocal about the need for an alternative striker to Harry Kane. Wilson fits the bill and both forwards have starred together for the three Lions on different occasions.

The scenario seems to be the perfect one for Spurs, the player wants to leave while the club are prepared to sell at the right price. Wilson will also be a good compliment to fellow England international Kane. But the Lilywhites will have to be quick with their decision. Wilson was a top transfer target for several other clubs during the January transfer window. Manchester United showed real interest in the player in January but no deal materialized as the Red Devils settled for former Watford striker Odion Ighalo.

Wilson is also attracting interest from MLS football, as David Beckham co owned new franchise Inter Miami have also been tipped to take advantage of the player’s situation.
